A Backcountry paradise
Sugarloaf Lodge is located at mile marker 17 on the historic Overseas Highway, just 15 miles from Key West. Nestled in the Great White Heron refuge, Sugarloaf Lodge offers views of the pristine protected backcountry waters of the lower keys.
Enjoy snorkeling, swimming, sunbathing, kayaking, and adventures just steps from your room. All 31 of our rooms overlook beautiful Sugarloaf Sound, a secluded mangrove lined bay, and a habitat for fish, birds, and other local wildlife.
Our Tiki Bar is closed due to COVID but it's a great spot to relax and watch the sunset with beverages from Sugarloaf Marina or our on site Restaurant, South of the Seven.
Sugarloaf Lodge is still a haven of funky charm, warmth, and nostalgia that travelers to Florida seek yet so rarely find. A perfect hideaway for couples, business travelers, families, and fishermen. While fishing is not allowed on the property, Sugarloaf Lodge offers a full service Marina and Bait Shop, with fishing charters, kayak rentals and tackle shop to meet your every need.
We also offer complimentary boat dockage with every room and if you feel like a swim, dive into our crystal clear swimming and snorkeling canals or bathe in our gorgeous swimming pool.

Sugarloaf Marina is one of the last “old school” marinas in the Florida Keys. Over the years it has been a home to world class fishing guides and local anglers alike, hosted fishing tournaments and has been a local favorite hangout.
Sugarloaf Marina is a full service marina that can outfit you with everything you may need for a fun day out on the water.
"A Region... A Lifestyle... A Restaurant"
Owners Chef Paul Kapsalis and Kris Kubik share a simple philosophy … A memorable dining experience is not the result of just great food, or wine, or service, or even ambience. It’s not any one of these, but all of them. A truly memorable dining experience is time deliciously spent.
Jump out of a perfectly good airplane with the Southernmost Skydivers in the US! Experience the thrill of flying with breathtaking views of the Florida Keys. Accelerate to speeds of 130 mph or more during your 30 second free fall then enjoy the bird’s eye view during your canopy ride.
Sugarloaf Lodge has always been a haven for all kinds of travelers. Located just 15 miles from historic Key West Sugarloaf Lodge is a short drive back to the keys you remember...
